The Metallyticus splendidus is a species of praying mantis belonging to genus Metallyticus. The Metallyticus splendidus is a smaller variation of a praying mantis, the male is beautifully multi coloured and iridescent. The female, on the other hand, is smaller with much less colouration. The colours of the male will be used to impress the female for mating purposes.
