Distribution Map

A Dactylioceras ammonite in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The Latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen.

A prehistoric cephalopod called Dactylioceras, flourished 180 million years ago. This prehistoric animal's fossils have been found in Yorkshire, a fossil-rich region of Great Britain. These ancient cephalopods, which are distant relatives of squid and octopuses today.

The fossil you receive will be a very close example to the one shown in the photo.

Period: Jurassic
