A stunning cut and polished ammonite fossil in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality backing board. Common and Latin names are printed underneath.

This has been cut and polished to show the internal structure and preserved limestone and calcite. Ammonites are an extinct group of marine mollusc that lived hundreds of millions of years ago. Starting as very small sea creatures as they evolved and grew, so did the shell making these magnificent fossils.

Please be aware you will receive a close example of the quality of specimen shown.

Fossil Age: 114 million years old

Fossil Origin: Madagascar

Period: Cretaceous

Stage: Albian

Distribution: Cleoniceras sp fossils are found in Middle Albian of Europe, Madagascar and Transcaspian region.

Frame: Black or white wood. Wooden box frame with glass window and hanging clips - handmade in our workshop.

Frame Size: Frame Window - 9 x 7 Inch (22.86cm x 17.78cm) / External Dimensions - 10.4 x 8.4 Inch (26.4 cm x 21.3 cm).
