A 12.7 cm cut & polished sliced ammonite displayed on a fabricated steel stand, handmade by our Hertfordshire blacksmiths.

This fossil has been cut and polished to show the internal structure and preserved limestone and calcite. Ammonites are an extinct group of marine mollusc that lived hundreds of millions of years ago. Starting as very small sea creatures as they evolved and grew, so did the shell making these magnificent fossils.
