Papilio ophidicephalus or also known as the Emperor Swallowtail is part of the family Papilionidae and is found in Sub-Saharan African.

The wingspan is usually around 9-10 cm in males and 25.4-30.5 cm Females. It has two broods, one is August to December and the other is January to April
