A 2 Inch Orthoceras pear drop fossil in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The Latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen.

Orthoceras is an ancient cephalopod that lived about 450+ million years ago. The name means straight horn, referencing it’s long conical like shell. The preserved shell in limestone, is all that remains.

Fossil Age: Devonian

Fossil Location: Erfoud region, Morocco.

Frame: Wooden box frame with glass window and hanging clips - handmade in our workshop.

This is a beautiful product although the "skull" in the moth's back isnt as white as the picture so in reality it almost cannot be seen which is a very very sad thing as thats one of the major cool things in this!
