The Madagascan sunset moth is a day-flying moth of the family Uraniidae. It is considered one of the most impressive looking moths and sought after by collectors. The species was named by Dru Drury in 1773 when he originally considered it to be a butterfly

Its wingspan reaches 7-9 cm.
