This sandstone block, sourced near Bordeaux, France, contains numerous fossil Turritella gastropods. These specimens date back to the Early Miocene period, specifically the Burdigalian Stage, making them approximately 16-20 million years old. The sandstone has undergone careful preparation to reveal the tops of these shells, resulting in a stunning display.
