An XL Orthoceras fossil slab displayed on a fabricated steel stand, handmade by our Hertfordshire blacksmiths. Orthoceras is an ancient cephalopod that lived about 450+ million years ago. The name means straight horn, referencing it’s long conical like shell. The preserved shell in limestone, is all that remains.
