    A beautiful Violet-washed Charaxes butterfly in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The Latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen.

    The Violet-washed Charaxes belongs to the Nymphalidae family of butterflies. Its primary food is Annona senegalensis, commonly known as African custard-apple.

    Its wingspan reaches 6–8 centimetres (2.6–3.4 in).

    Distribution: Charaxes lucretius is a forest butterfly found in Africa (Senegal, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe, Gabon, the Republic of Congo, Angola, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia).
