A Petrified Wood fossil in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The Latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen.
Petrified Wood is the name given to a special type of fossilized remains of vegetation. Petrifaction is the result of a tree being replaced by stone using a mineralization process. This tends to occur underground, when wood becomes buried in water saturated sediment or volcanic ash. Please be aware the fossil may vary in pattern / colour due to being a unique fossil.
Please Be Aware: The specimen that you will receive may differ in size, shape, or colour very slightly since you are purchasing a natural product.
