Morpho cypris f. cyanites
Very Rare Cypris Morpho Male & Female Pair Butterfly In Box Frame
- £1,999.99
A stunning Morpho cypris male & female pair in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality backing board. Common and Latin names are printed underneath.
The Morpho cypris, known as the Morpho cypris, displays a stunning iridescent blue in males, while females are adorned with brown and orange patterns. These butterflies inhabit tropical rainforests, where they flit gracefully among the foliage. Their vibrant colours serve not only as a display but also as a means of camouflage against predators. This male and female pair showcases the striking sexual dimorphism of the species.
Female Morpho cypris specimens are very rarely offered, due to the extent of damage typically sustained during the mating process. Morpho cypris females are muted yellow/brown, yet these cyanites form represents a brilliant blue female variation.
