Another immaculately presented specimen from Minibeast. One of the few I’ve ordered that I’ve actually encountered in nature. I ordered this as part of a quartet shown in the photo and I love that Minibeast offers a meaningful reward program to incentivise repeat orders. Unlike most shooed thst offer points valued at 1% or less of the order value - barely worth even paying attention to, Minibeast’s loyalty point as worth 10% of the order value - that is a really generous offer and a significant factor in making me come back for more (that and the outstanding customer service from the team). I cannot recommend this company highly enough - they’re a pleasure to deal with and their product quality and range of specimens offered is top notch.

The must-have moth for every collection!

I had one of these when I was a kid - such a fascinating moth, I think it would be a great addition to any collection even without the famous skull pattern on it’s back, but it’s that and the link to Thomas Harris’s book that makes it such a must-have species I think. As with my other specimens from minibeast, it’s immaculately presented in a well constructed frame that hangs easily on my wall. Stunning.

So colourful!

This one actually arrived with a small tear in one of the wings which must have happened in transit. Minibeast UK replaced the damaged specimen with a brand new one immediately, no questions asked, leaving me with a still very serviceable mildly damaged specimen to give to a very grateful family friend.

The Madagascan sunset moth was the species that made me want to start collecting these frames - it is in my opinion the most beautiful butterfly or moth that exists anywhere in the world, and this specimen did not disappoint!

Gorgeous blue morpho

Beautiful specimen of a blue morpho. I was initially a little confused as the butterfly was missing the lower half of its body but Gary the owner explained this is done by the etymologists because it contains oil which otherwise damages the wings eventually. I bought this as one of a quartet for my wall as pictured. I was so impressed with the presentation and the customer service that I have put in another big order to fill a whole wall in my house. Can’t wait for them all to arrive!

I'm in love with the intricate markings and form of this butterfly's wings. I chose to get it in a glass dome for the mantelpiece this time around as there's no more space on the wall.
I'm not let down by the quality; it's displayed very nicely and reinforces the 'museum' look I'm going for.

Charmingly metallic and blue.

The metallic blue wings of this butterfly are simply unbelievable in the flesh- it really pops out amongst the other minibeasts.
